The Labor Day speech of Pnoy can be
described in two words – CONTRADICTORY and EMPTY!
For the past several months, Pnoy’s
government has been boasting of a vibrant economy, with the growth of this and
that and the creation of a million or more jobs, among others, as proof!
So if the economy and the business
sector are indeed doing very well, why can’t employers afford the P125 wage
increase sought by private sector workers?
ANO BA ANG TUTOONG LAGAY NG EKONOMIYA?
Pnoy said if the proposed P125 across-the-board
wage increase is implemented, over half a million workers will lose their jobs and
it will cost employers P1.43 trillion.
Says who? Was a study ever made in the
first place? If yes, then disclose it publicly for private sector scrutiny.
Pnoy even DISGUSTINGLY, and PATHETICALLY,
tried to defend the P400 plus minimum wage by saying it’s way higher than in
other South East Asian nations like $2 in Cambodia ,
$2 to $4 in Vietnam and $3
in Indonesia .
Pnoy must be playing IGNORANT, if he
isn’t really IGNORANT, of the fact, among others, that the Philippines has the
second to the highest, if not the highest, power rate in Southeast Asia.
Before I wrote this blog, a personal
friend of mine told me that a lot of medicines in the local market are cheaper
by a minimum of 20 to 30 percent in Vietnam
and Indonesia .
Kaya’t kahit sentido kumon lang ang
gamitin ay agad na MAIINTINDIHAN NINUMAN na hindi problema ang mas maliit na
minimum wage sa ilang mga kapitbahay nating bansa sa Southeast
Asia .
Pnoy said he is LAYING DOWN real
solutions to labor problems. Meaning, he’s supposedly doing something already.
But HE DIDN’T, and COULD NOT SPECIFY,
even one solution.
Pnoy gave intellectually-sounding, but
TOTALLY GENERIC, EMPTY phrases of his plans -- retain the already available
jobs, create more jobs, add to the knowledge of our workers so that the value
chain will be increased and ensure the implementation of laws.
But he did not explain how he intends
to do even one. He did not give even a tentative tie frame as to how soon we
can expect even initial results.
So even if it takes the remaining four
years of his term, we can’t blame him since he never said anything definite in
the first place.
Basta may ginagawa siya, tapos. At wala
tayong dapat gawin kundi paniwalaan iyun.
Papayag ba kayo, mga kababayan, ng ganoon na lang?
Why
can’t he be SPECIFIC with anything if indeed he has been doing something? Personally, and 20 to 1, the truth is there’s
nothing specific to reveal and talk about!
We,
the people, have a right to know since we are the ones suffering from his INABILITY
to control or reduce prices of basic commodities and power despite being
president for almost TWO LONG YEARS!
We don’t deserve to suffer any longer,
especially if it’s just because of the incompetence of Pnoy and his boys! 30
