SUMMON VALTE TO IMPEACHMENT COURT!

Lawyers of Chief Justice Renato Corona had better ask for a subpoena for Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte.

She might know something they don’t on how the PSBank records of the Chief Justice ended up in the hands of the prosecution.

In a radio interview Saturday, Valte practically cleared the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) as being the source of Corona’s bank records, categorically stating that “we know that the BSP, being the regulator of banking institutions, will not allow these things to happen.” 

Think about these, people:

Valte is not an official of the BSP. She is not a senator or a staff member of the Senate committee investigating the leakage of Corona’s bank records.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but neither is there a separate investigation being conducted by Malacanang on the issue.

So what legal, professional or moral right does she have to immediately and sweepingly clear the BSP of any wrongdoing in the leakage of Corona’s bank records?

When a person declares another person (s) as innocent of an illegal act, he or she should have a basis for doing so.

Valte should be asked to reveal hers.

Especially since she also categorically declared that there would be no cover-up when asked to comment on BSP examiner Jerry Leal, whom some senators suspect as being the source of the leak.

After all, truth and transparency are two of the favorite words of his big boss Pnoy.

So as Malacanang often puts it, if Valte has nothing to hide, then there should be no problem for her to testify in the impeachment trial and explain her basis for acquitting the BSP.

If Valte won’t testify, then she and the rest of Malacanang officials including Pnoy, deserve NO CREDIBILITY from now on for whatever they say against Corona.

They should all have the decency to SHUT UP once and for all!

In a radio interview, Deputy Presidential Spokesperon Abigail Valte  said we have to accept that the oil industry is “a deregulated market and we are subject to market forces,.

In short, the PROFITS of the oil companies MUST NOT BE REDUCED! Their SUFFOCATING GRIP on our meager finances MUST NOT BE LOOSENED.

As far as Pnoy’s government is concerned, it’s only US, THE PEOPLE, WHO MUST SUFFER, who must be deprived of DECENT or enough earnings, of quality of life. 

NOT THE OIL COMPANIES!

Pnoy would not even call for an HONEST-TO-GOODNESS audit of the oil firms’ earnings to determine if their non-stop increases are JUSTIFIED OR SIMPLY GREED to the bones1.

Except for a few ‘pakunswelo de bobo’ press releases asking oil companies to explain, NOTHING, AS IN NONE, has been done whatsoever by the Pnoy government against the VULGAR LUST FOR MONEY of oil companies.  

Worse, Valte even wants to FOOL US into believing that the Administration has been doing everything it can to ease the problem.

Valte said the Department of Energy’s reloading of fuel subsidy cards of public transport operators is one of the steps the government is taking to help jeepney and bus drivers.

I say this fuel subsidy gimmick is nothing more than FRYING US, THE PEOPLE, in our own lard. It’s a LOT, LOT MORE BIGGER help to the oil companies than to the people.

Why? With the subsidy, drivers can continue buying oil products even at sky-high prices.  Meaning, it helps assure oil companies that their PROFITS WILL NEVER DECREASE.

COMPLIMENTS OF OUR TAXES, from where the subsidy was surely taken, and not of Pnoy’s or Valte’s money.

Valte said the Departments of Transportation and Communications and Energy are continuing their consultations with transport groups.   

But she DID NOT CITE EVEN ONE GROUP, nor anything that has been purportedly discussed so far in the supposed consultations. Basta kumikilos sila, tapos.

I learned more about remedial law in the last 6 weeks than when I was in school. And the instruction method was very effective -- WHAT NOT TO DO AT TRIAL, STARRING NIEL TUPAS ET AL. I cant wait to see how this will all end. But the point is, I'm waiting for it to end before declaring anyone innocent or guilty. Everyone should try to do the same.

Justice Sec. Leila de Lima’s testimony on Corona’s alleged bias in favor of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, based on an opinion by Supreme Court Associate Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno has been declared as hearsay by the Senate Impeachment Court.

And Sereno, the ONLY PERSON who could have possibly given legitimacy to De Lima’s testimony, has REFUSED TO TESTIFY.

These are FACTS ON RECORD, Mr. President.

Even a high school kid would EASILYCOMPREHEND that all these are definitely NOT AN INDICATION of victory for the prosecution and of defeat for Corona.

For your sake, I hope you won’t have the guts to insist on the contrary.

You’re not a lawyer, Mr. President, so it would be a lot better for you to once and for all STOP COMMENTING on the legal aspects of the impeachment trial.

A CHALLENGE TO SERENO!

I just don’t know if this is legally possible but here’s a challenge to Supreme Court Associate Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno:

DETAIL the supposed irregularities you had cited in your dissenting opinion on the court’s issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO) in favor of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) last year UNDER OATH.

Put an emphasis on why didn’t you PUBLICLY REVEAL the supposed irregularities RIGHT AFTER it occurred, considering the gravity and the personality involved.   

Either through a press conference or press statement.

Please clarify what was the reaction of the other justices to your opinion, and if you did anything at all to try to convince them to the morality of it.

Did you confront Chief Justice Renato Corona about these supposed irregularities? If yes, what happened? If you did not, why?

Did you inform anybody else, especially President Aquino about these supposed irregularities? If yes, who and what did that person say? If no, why? 

You have kept quiet about the supposed irregularities since November of last year. And yet, you now hint of having wanted to testify about it in Corona’s impeachment trial had the prosecution not rested its case.

Why the sudden change of heart?

I hope my former colleagues in media would consider doing a story about this.

Based on Sereno’s opinion, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima had testified in the impeachment court that Corona made it appear that the Nov. 15 TRO was immediately effective.

This despite the Arroyos’ non-compliance to its three conditions.

But think about these, people:

One of the conditions is that the Arroyos should report to the nearest Philippine consulate or embassy upon arrival in their destination.

So how can the Arroyos do that if they wouldn’t be able to leave?

With the TRO, De Lima said Corona helped GMA and her husband in trying to escape prosecution. 

But that time, no case had been filed yet against GMA. So there was no prosecution to escape from.

Besides, Corona said the TRO was effective the moment it was issued and the Arroyos only had five days to comply with its conditions.

Just five days. Otherwise, the TRO would have been lifted. Think about it, guys, before you make your own  conclusions.

LIE NO. 4 FROM TUPAS!

We now have LIE NO. 4 from Corona impeachment trial lead prosecutor Rep. Niel Tupas Jr.

After consistent and vehement denials before, Tupas finally confirmed today, March 1, that he and controversial Philippine Savings Bank branch manager Anabelle Tiongson had met before.

Following postings in Facebook of a picture of him in barong Tagalog and Tiongson in an off-shoulder gown flanking a newlywed couple, Tupas confirmed to Radyo Inquirer that they met at a wedding 25 years ago.

Earlier in the trial, Tupas denied having met or having been introduced to Tiongson before. Tiongson claimed she only knew Tupas through the media.

Talaga palang SAGAD SA KAPAL  ANG MUKHA nitong si Tupas.

I wouldn’t have said this if this was the first time Tupas had been inconsistent with his statements in the course of the impeachment trial.

But as I’ve pointed out in the lead paragraph, ladies and gentlemen, this is LIE NO. 4 for Tupas.

Lie no. 1: Tupas claimed to media before the impeachment trial started that Corona had 45 properties. Days later, he and the prosecution reduced it to 21.

Lie no. 2: Confronted by senators, Tupas claimed the prosecution was not the one who relayed the supposed 45 Corona properties to media. But video footage of TV networks contradicted him.

Lie no. 3: Tupas said his house and lot on Xaverville 1 Subdivision in Quezon City is worth only P14 million.

But no less than the Quezon City register of deeds declared in front of TV cameras that at the current selling rates, Tupas’ lot alone would cost as much as P25 million.

Now, this one on Tiongson.

With Tupas turning out to be a CONSISTENT LIAR, the TRUTH AND ACCURACY of the prosecution in ALL of its statements and allegations is now highly doubtful.

For Tupas, he has just run out of CREDIBILITY and the benefit of the doubt.

The remaining three articles are still up for demolition by the defense.

So far, and anybody correct me if I’m wrong, only the prosecutors and Malacanang are saying that they have strong pieces of evidence which are enough to convict Corona.

So we can expect the prosecution to start BURYING INTO OUR MINDS their fearless forecast of a Corona conviction due t0 their evidence.

In whatever shape and form and medium they can think of or lay their hands on – from press releases to TV and radio appearances, from campus tours to media forums, from posters or billboards or flyers to huge print and TV ads paid for supposedly by people with dubious financial capacity.

Name it, the prosecution will do it.

They will be DESPERATE to generate public support for two reasons: the people they will FOOL or MISLEAD will be the ones to pressure the Senate Impeachment Court, NOT THEM, into convicting Corona.

If they loose, the prosecutors will rally whoever they had recruited into protest actions while alleging railroading and other similar immoral acts in the decision-making process.

No problem if you want to read or listen to any of the prosecution’s propaganda. Just DON’T FORGET that it’s the Senate Impeachment Court, NOT the prosecution, who will decide on who had told the truth.

DON’T LET ANYBODY USE YOU, OR MANIPULATE YOU.

As the senator-judges themselves are repeatedly saying, it’s ONLY the impeachment court who has the power to convict or acquit Corona.
