PULSE ASIA, SWS SURVEYS NOT WORKING!

Don’t mind the Pulse Asia and SWS surveys on the supposed public clamor for the conviction of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

The surveys aren’t working, guys.

The surveys HAVE NOT INCREASED calls from the public, and by that I mean IDENTIFIED individuals or groups, for the ouster of Corona.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but except for the prosecution and Malacanang, NOBODY among neutral sectors has expressed firm faith or confidence in the accuracy of the surveys.

I haven’t heard Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda’s Black and White Movement, or even leftist groups, CATEGORICALLY say that the survey results are correct and show that Corona should go.

Anybody who has can forward details to me.

Neither have there been renewed rallies or mass actions against Corona. No new advertisements or similar media pronouncements either by any group NOT IDENTIFIED with Pnoy or any of his aides.

Meanwhile, Supreme Court personnel and other employees of the Judiciary in various places continue with their vocal expression of support  for the Chief Justice.

Internet groups supportive of Corona ARE NOT LOSING MEMBERS since the surveys started coming out.

On the contrary they’re GROWING.

One group now has 12,190 members with 3,440 new recruits. Another has 300 new faces and a total of 1,552 members.

Pulse Asia and SWS are claiming that the surveys were not commissioned by anybody. But of course, WE WERE NOT BORN YESTERDAY, right guys?

This could only mean that NO ONE wanted to FRONT for the surveys should anybody ask who had commissioned it, as what Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago had done.

Again, I’m not saying, and will never say, that Corona is innocent.

What I’m driving at is no one should allow himself or herself to be FOOLED by the surveys, which DON’T HAVE even a DROP of convincing proof of TRUTH AND ACCURACY.

NOBODY WANTS TO PROBE POWER CRISIS!

I can’t help wondering why NO INVESTIGATION is being conducted on why has the power crisis worsened, especially in Mindanao.

Take note, guys, nobody is even pushing to have one.

Unlike in the case of political enemies of Pnoy wherein practically everybody is issuing his and her own call for a probe, and judgment of the issue at hand even if an investigation or trial is still in progress.

I fully agree that problems had been hounding the power sector before Pnoy became president.

But the FACT REMAINS that those problems WOULD NOT HAVE WORSENED if these had been attended to immediately, and effectively.

When something deteriorates, somebody must be held ACCOUNTABLE. But clearly, Pnoy and his allies in the Senate and the House of Representatives would not want this to happen.

Malacanang immediately cleared Energy Sec. Rene Almendras of any liability and declared he’ll stay despite calls for his resignation.

So the first question is what has been done by the Aquino Administration in the almost two years that it has been in power?

Who did what, when and for whom?

In a press statement in the Philippine Star, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said new power plants were constructed in 2011. But he DID NOT SPECIFY the total capacity, where, how many, for whom and who was/were the contractor (s).

Lacierda said the Agus 6 hydroelectric power complex in Mindanao is being rehabilitated, something which SHOUD HAVE BEEN DONE BEFORE.

But he didn’t explain WHY NOT in the almost two years of the Pnoy presidency.

Lacierda said the Agus 6 rehabilitation is just part of the long-term SOLUTIONS to the power crisis in Mindanao. 

But he did not specify what these other solutions are.

Bottom line: Mindanao residents are poised to suffer HIGHER ELECTRICITY 

RATES.

In fairness to them, they must know WHO’S TO BLAME for this added hardship. They must also have DETAILED ASSURANCE that the increase will be utilized correctly, and not just end up in THE POCKETS of certain individuals.

PART 2: SWS SURVEY MALICIOUS, ONE-SIDED!

A personal friend of mine told me there’s no way Pnoy or the prosecution panel in the impeachment trial had anything to do with the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey saying 73 percent of the people want Chief Justice Renato Corona convicted. 

To avoid a debate, since we’ve been friends from way back, I immediately replied:

Then, the SWS had better reveal who commissioned the survey. Pnoy and the prosecution panel are the ones with the biggest motive to oust Corona.

Reveal as in show the contract for the survey to media.

It’s public knowledge that SWS is one of the MOST EXPENSIVE survey firms in the country. Only the likes of Pnoy and the prosecution panel, who have millions at their disposal, can afford to spend for non-essential undertakings like surveys.

If it turns out that the SWS client is not Pnoy or the prosecution, then his or her possible links to the President or the prosecution can be determined.

I emphasized to my friend that the SWS had better not have the stomach to claim that the survey was for free and of their OWN volition.  The people are NOT THAT STUPID.

Whether or not anybody admits it, the survey wanted to PREJUDGE the case in favor of the prosecution.

The thrust of the survey was does the people think Corona was guilty, based ONLY ON THE PROSECUTION’S EVIDENCE since it’s the only one who has finished with its presentation of the case.

The timing of the survey and the release of the results should also be explained by the SWS.

As I had pointed out in our preceding blog, the survey was conducted from March 10 to 13, RIGHT AFTER the prosecution had rested its case and the defense was just starting to present witnesses and proof.

That means it’s a ONE-SIDED SURVEY. If SWS is for fair play, it should have conducted the survey AFTER the defense has presented its case.

When both sides shall have presented their case and respondents would have been in a BETTER POSITION to make a more RATIONAL REPLY to the survey questions.

Only after that should the survey results be released.

But since the poll was conducted when the defense had BARELY BEGUN to present its case, the OBVIOUS, VULGAR intent was to BRAINWASH the people in favor of the prosecution.

The survey CLEARLY wanted to BLOCK whatever significance the evidence of the defense may have from the PUBLIC MIND.

I assured my friend that I would welcome any clarification from him. That goes for everybody. Just be sure it’s DETAILED and not just a generic or self-serving statement.

Think about these, guys:

PROSECUTORS SHOULD ACCOUNT FOR P3.5M BUDGET!

The prosecution panel should make a PUBLIC ACCOUNTING of the P3.5 million it has spent since the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona started last Jan. 16.

Public because it’s OUR TAXES, GUYS! Let n one ever forget that.

From Jan. 16 until the trial went on a break last March 15 (if I remember correctly), approximately 60 days had passed. That includes Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays when there are no hearings.

If you divide P3.5 million by 60 days, that’s approximately P58,000 plus DAILY since the trial began.

Now, the prosecution has been saying right from the start that the 50 prosecutors from the private sector which they had tapped are helping them FREE of charge. 

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but I also don’t recall the prosecution having ever declared that they had rented, bought, built or spent on something special which they need for the trial.

The impeachment trial is being held in the Senate, so it’s the Senate who’s paying for the electricity and other related expenses, not the prosecution.

I and my officemates religiously watch the live TV coverage of the trial and as far as I can recall, NEVER had the 50 private prosecutors joined their congressmen-prosecutors ALL AT THE SAME TIME!

But Noel said the private prosecutors’ fuel expenses were reimbursed

So WHERE DID THE P3.5 million go? Or to whom, when and what for? Who authorized the expenses?

House Accounts Committee Chair Rep. Florencio Noel said in a press statement that expenses for supplies accounted for P1.9 million, while food expenses ate up P1.565 million.

But Noel DID NOT ITEMIZE the expenses. Let’s do some simple mathematics, people.

If you divide the P1.565 million spent on food by 60 days, that would be approximately P25,000 daily seven days a week. I repeat, people, P25,000 daily on food alone even if there are NO HEARINGS on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

The P1.9 million for supplies translates to P30,000 plus a day if  divided by 60. What makes these supplies SO EXPENSIVE, and FOR WHAT were these used, or are being used?

And the fuel reimbursements for the private prosecutors, how much?

I repeat, guys, the P3.5 million came from our HARD-EARNED TAXES. We have all the right to know how has it been spent. 30

If you’ll insist on your obvious MIND-CONDITIONING efforts to demonize the Chief Justice, Ms. Robles, produce documentary proof FIRST that a licensed physical therapist with two jobs in the US like Charina IS NOT EARNING ENOUGH to buy properties.

You BOAST of crowd sourcing in getting your information so ask your ‘crowd sources’ to get copies of Charina’s payslips if they’re really that good.

You keep on tackling what you insinuate to be US properties of Corona but you continue to FAIL TO CITE, either out of SHEER INCOMPETENCE or MALICE, sample figures of how much a licensed physical therapist like Charina can earn in the US.

You and your allies/followers, Ms. Robles, will find two of those sample figures, one each from California and Washington, in the comments accompanying this bog.

And in my preceding blog, you will find a comment from one of my readers from New York on the financial capability of a licensed physical therapist in the US.

I have also been informed that prosecution panel spokesman Marikina Rep. Miro Quimbo has declared in a TV news comment that they did not find any US property registered in the name of Corona.

So if you’ll continue with your malicious insinuations, Ms. Robles, CATEGORICALLY DECLARE FIRST that Quimbo is a LIAR or the prosecutors are MISERABLY INCOMPETENT investigators.

Now, if you’ll ignore all these but will still malign the reputation of Corona, then accept the challenge of his lawyers and take the witness stand at the impeachment trial.

Volunteer if you have to. So that whatever you’ll say will be under oath and will be ground for penalties if you’ll LIE.

Kung ayaw mo pa rin, Ms. Robles, magkaroon ka naman ng KAHIHIYAN na tumahimik na. Iyon ay KUNG MAY KAHIHIYAN KA PA.
