P87-M BUDGET FOR PNOY TRIPS SUSPICIOUS!

These are excerpts from a post I ran into in www.trigger.ph

The P87 million budget declared by Malacanang for the US and UK trips ofd Pnoy could be very well more than the actual cost.

Malacanang did not give any breakdown of the P87 million.

The eight Cabinet secretaries with Pnoy have their own travel budgets and allowances. Like Pnoy, they also brought along members of their staff, who likewise are entitled to allowances.

The Philippine embassy in the country of destination also gets a separate budget from the Department of Foreign Affairs.

The trips lasted only for a week or seven days. If you divide P87 million by seven days, that’s almost P12,450,000 a day. Question: was everybody in the entourage really needed by their bosses?

Now, let me add my thoughts, guys:

Pnoy’s boys, in particular the ones who prepared and approved the P87- million budget, had better have a literally SOLID JUSTIFICATION for why should these trips be so EXTRAVAGANT.

Since the P87 million is the people’s money, Malacanang and the Cabinet members in the trips must present a DETAILED BREAKDOWN of their expenditures  and supporting documents ASAP (as soon as possible).

Until then, we taxpayers have NO GUARANTEE that the money was JUDICIOUSLY AND LEGALLY SPENT, that there was NO OVERPRICING of anything and no funds went into anybody’s pockets.

Somebody must also prove that the companies they had tapped for the trips, like airlines and accommodations, had indeed offered the most reasonable and cheapest rates.

And not just because these were owned by government officials or cronies of Pnoy and the Aquinos or Cojuangcos.

Pnoy has been boasting that his government has been wisely and prudently handling funds since he assumed office. Therefore, it shouldn’t be a problem for any of his boys to prove that ther had been no anomalies for the US abnd UK trips, if HE’S TELLING THE TRUTH.

Keep in mind, guys, P87 million is P87 million.

But you wanna know what’s DESPICABLE and INSULTING people, especially to the poor and the sick?

The government doesn’t mind spending P87 million for a week’s travel of Pnoy.

But two years into his administration, among others:  the education sector is still SHORT OF TENS OF THOUSANDS of classrooms and books, land reform is some 900,000 hectares short of the expected accomplishment to date and HUNGER is worsening.

To the architects or engineers, landowners and food merchants:

How many classrooms can be built or how many textbooks can be bought for P87 million?  How many scholarships can that amount fund? How many hectares of land can be bough for distribution to poor farmers, how many food generating projects can be started with P87 million?

Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

SUSPICIONS ON CORONA CONVICTION WILL LINGER!

GING TENGCO
Exactly.

JIMMY PRESTO
Villar disappointed a lot of people big time! He made a fatal error; his political career whatever is left of it, is now gone. His wife's political ambitions will never take off as a result of his guilty verdict on CJ Corona!

JULIUS ILAGAN
The fallout of the trial will haunt them.

JOSE ESCALANTE
No doubt. It's obvious that the judgment against the chief justice was politically orchestrated, biased and discriminated...he was singled out for obvious reasons and everybody knows about it. C'mon people, wake up and smell the garbage looming in the air in our country. We can't blame others if we're being discriminated, because it's how other people look at us as a nation.

ART CATAPANG
Corona validated his conviction from the basis of the rule of law. Anyone with a lingering suspicion on the Corona conviction has the inalienable right to feed on this hogwash. Regardless of the politics of anyone in or out of the trial, the public trial is very clear on the charges accepted by the judges, the prosecution and the defense, the facts and evidence laid out during the trial and the basis of the Impeachment of Renato Corona from his position of Chief Justice--- which he accepted with his superior knowledge of the law.

JOSE LUIS LEGARDA
Suspicions and very serious doubts on Corona’s conviction will never go away. It will be remembered for the ruthlessness, viciousness and super abuse of power by Abnoy.

NIKKO MAHOR
Try watching The Conspirator and read Grisham's The Appeal.  You'll find some similarities in the plots of the true-to life movie and the novel with Corona's ouster... sometimes, life is indeed stranger than fiction.

CHRISTINE PORCIUNCULA of Valenzuela City
Sabi nga ni Madam Miriam, yung impeachment is a quasi-political thing. Kung ang evidence lang ang pinagbabatayan dun, it wouldn't have turned out that way. Syempre kinu-consider din nila yung political careers, kuno, nila. Let's face it.

WHY SHOULD WE STILLMTRUST PNOY?

Hell, no. Never trusted  him to begin with. 30

SUSPICIONS ON CORONA CONVICTION WILL LINGER!

Whether they like it or not, the senators who convicted former Chief Justice Renato Corona will have to live with suspicions that they’re vote was in exchange for something, as Sen, Miriam Defensor Santiago had insinuated.

If not forever, at least until the elections next year. No amount of denial by any of them, or by Malacanang, will erase that mindset in one click.

First: Seven of them met at the home of Sen. Loren Legarda purportedly to discuss Corona’s case and come up with a wise decision ONE DAY BEFORE closing arguments by both sides were heard in the impeachment court.

I’m not a lawyer but I will dare say that whenever closing arguments are allowed, the judge or judges LISTEN TO THESE FIRST before deciding on the case.

Second: On the day the closing arguments were delivered, presidential adviser for political affairs Ronald Llamas was being quoted in media as sating they (meaning Malacanang) already have 18 senators in the bag for Corona’s conviction.

Third: The following day, some of my sources of information tipped me off as early as past 8 a.m. that Corona will be convicted on 20-3 vote. When I arrived for work, my boss told me the same thing.

One of his friends arrived for a visit, also with the same information. True enough, when Corona’s conviction was announced later that afternoon, the voting was indeed 20-3.

Fourth: The terms of two of the senators who convicted Corona, Ping Lacson and Francis Pangilinan, willl end only by next year. But this early, President Aquino has declared he’s eyeing them for Cabinet posts after they graduate from the Senate.

Fifth: There was widespread talk that the explanatory speech of Senators Ramon Revilla Jr. and Manuel Viillar for their guilty vote were prepared ONLY AT THE LAST MINUTE.

I don’t know if you noticed it, guys, but Villar OBVIOUSLY DIDN’T HAVE HIS HEART for his speech. And my sources in Lakas,-NUCD, which Revilla heads, say political considerations were among the reasons for his guilty vote.

So unless there will be AIRTIGHT and ROCK-SOLID proof that there was nothing in return for their guilty votes, the senators who convicted Coronas can’t blame the people for entertaining the thought.

Especially at the 2013 polls.

Simple answer to your question, Boyet: "Why doesn’t Avnoy want to sign the waiver?" He is just as guilty as the CJ because he did not also reveal everything in his SALN, period. It's as simple as that. If he isn't hiding anything, he would be more than willing to submit to the challenge. If you look at the word hypocrite in the dictionary, you'll see a yellow bald asshole.!

WHY SHOULD WE STILL TRUST PNOY?

Here’s a question to both pro and anti-Pnoys:

With his outright refusal to sign a waiver for his bank accounts despite his promise to do so when he was campaigning for the presidency, why should we  still trust the word of President Aquino?

Personally, I don’t find any good reason anymore to continue doing so.

Pnoy ADMITS he had promised to open his bank accounts for public scrutiny in case he wins when he ran for president in 2010.

Take note, people, he would do it on his own volition, and NOT THROUGH anybody or through any document like the SALN.  He SPECIFIED bank accounts tin his promise.

Now, he CATEGORICALLY REFUSES to do so.

He says that with the waiver in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN), there is no need anymore for him to sign a second waiver for his bank accounts.

But take  note,  people:

Deputy presidential spokesman Abigail Valte herself has admitted in a radio interview that the SALN waiver DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY authorize the Ombudsman to go straight to the banks and look into Pnoy’s accounts.

Remember, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales had to be content with UNVERIFIED RECORDS from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) in revealing supposed dollar deposits of former Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Simply put, Pnoy is TRYING TO FOOL US!

Clearly, he has LITTLE OR NO REGARD of the law. He shamelessly CLAIMS THE CONTRARY to the people in defending his refusal to sign a waiver for his bank accounts.

If Pnoy or his spokespersons will insist that his interpretation of the SALN waiver’s strength is correct, then how come not one legal luminary outside of his administration is backing him up?

And Valte herself admitted the contrary of his argument?

If a person has NO VALID DEFENSE not to keep his or her promise, that person has NO WORD OF HONOR.

If that person get away with fooling you now, THERE’S NO GUARANTEE that he or she WON’T DO IT AGAIN .

Now think hard, and I mean very, very hard about this:

If Pnoy HAS NO PROBLEM in OPENLY breaking a promise involving a simple waiver, how can we expect him to fulfill his other campaign pledges?

Anybody can answer. Just be sure you stick to the issue.

CORONA ARREST RUMOR A DIVERSIONARY TACTIC!

Sorry for not posting anything yesterday and today, guys. I’ve been running an off and on fever.  Please bear with me. Tnx.

I find the rapidly spreading talk that former Chief Justice Renato Corona will be arrested on Friday on orders of Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales as both an indication and a diversionary tactic.

It’s an indication that the Pnoy government is aware that the majority of the people do not agree with Corona’s conviction. They know that they must demonize Corona round-the-clock to condition the public mind that he is indeed morally unfit to continue as Chief Justice.

So they must cook up new and sensational lies, like that arrest gimmick, even if they’ll look like IDIOTS.

It’s public knowledge that until he was convicted in his impeachment trial, Corona WAS NOT FACING ANY CHARGES before any court. And for those who may not know it, Morales HAS NO POWER to order the arrest of anyone.

It’s only the court who can issue a warrant of arrest.

That’s why I strongly believe that this arrest Corona rumor is being spread to divert public attention from the growing clamor for Pnoy to sign a waiver for his bank accounts, as he had promised when he ran for president in 2010.

Remember, Pnoy has been refusing to sign a waiver for his bank accounts.

He says the waiver on his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) authorizes the Ombudsman to look into his monies.

But deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte has admitted In a recent radio interview that the ASALN waiver is NOT ABSOLUTE and does not authorize the Ombudsman to directly go to the banks to check on Pnoy’s finances.

Therefore, Malacanang needs a sensational publicity stunt that can catch the people’s attention and make them forget Pnoy’s refusal to execute a waiver. And these days, NOTHING can be a more effective DIVERSION than Corona.

And whatever happens to or is done to him.

Personally, I don’t think Pnoy’s people are that STUPID to arrest or order the arrest of Corona. But here’s hoping that the anti-Coronas will not be FOOLED either into believing that it will be a perfectly legal publicity stunt.

NO MORE EXCUSE NOT TO SIGN WAIVER!

There’s NO MORE EXCUSE for Pnoy NOT TO SIGN a waiver for his bank accounts, as he had promised when he ran for President two years ago.

His defense has just been DEMOLISHED by no less than his deputy spokesperson, Abigal Valte.

DespIte mounting public clamor, Pnoy’s insisting that he had done that promise by signing his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN), which purportedly gives the Ombudsman authority to open his bank accounts.

But in a radio interview, Valte admitted that Pnoy’s SALN was NOT AN ABSOLUTE WAIVER which allows the Ombudsman to ask for details of dollar deposits straight form the banks.

Valte admitted that unless accompanied by representations from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), the Ombudsman can’t peak into bank deposits and other financial transactions of the Pnoy.

Kaya WALA NANG PALUSOT pang magagawa si Pnoy para HUWAG MAGPAKALALAKI at TUPARIN na ang pangako niyang pipirma siya ng waiver.

Valte’s admission shows that Pnoy has been LYING AND FOOLING THE PEOPLE in claiming that with his SALN, there’s no more need for him to execute a waiver for his bank accounts.

More than ever, the ONLY POSSIBLE REASON for Pnoy’s refusal to sign a waiver is he is hiding ILLEGALLY AMASSED MONEY.

Otherwise, as I had written earlier, he won’t waste a second in signing a waiver to prove that he practices the transparency he often preaches and should be an example to all, apart from being a TRUE MAN who keeps his word.

Valte had been quoted in media several days ago that Pnoy was not ready to execute a waiver AT THIS TIME.

A VERY DANGEROUS SIGN if you’ll ask me.

Since Valte did not explain what would be the appropriate time for Pnoy to sign a waiver, the only logical answer I can think of is Pnoy still has to HIDE (like transferring to offshore accounts) the monies which he doesn’t want the public to know.

Let’s not keep our guard down, people. Let’s join forces in keeping the pressure on Pnoy until he signs a waiver IMMEDIATELY.

If not, nobody  should be surprised if Pnoy suddenly signs a waiver and it turns out that his savings are mostly, if not all, rfeflective of what he only earns as President of the country.
