Deputy presidential spokesman Abigail Valte says Chief Justice Renato Corona should just prepare for testimony on Tuesday instead of expressing his confidence of an acquittal.

If the prosecution can repeatedly express confidence of a conviction, then Corona ALSO HAS THAT RIGHT.

Unless you can show a law that clearly says the freedom to express confidence in the outcome of Corona’s impeachment trial is EXCLUSIVE TO YOU, and your comrades in the ANTI-CORONA syndicate.

You declare with CERTAINTY, Ms. Valte, that Corona has unexplained millions in dollar deposits and that he should have disclosed these n his statements of assets and liabilities and net worth (SALN).

That has NOT BEEN PROVEN WITH FINALITY.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales COULD NOT EVEN AUTHENTICATE or categorically declare as true those million-dollar deposits which she had based on a purported report form the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC).

A report that EVERYBODY knows by now was UNSIGNED and UNVERIFIED.

So until it’s proven BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT that Corona indeed had millions of dollars of unexplained deposits, YOU HAVE NO MORAL RIGHT to say the same as a fact.

Otherwise, SINUNGALING ka to the max!

You say that: “Perhaps, we should just wait for the verdict.” If you’re PROFESSIONAL enough, you really should Ms. Valte.

You, and the rest of your anti-Corona gangmates, should have the DECENCY to STOP passing off anything against the Chief Justice as a truth even if it has not been proven beyond reasonable doubt.

You and your gangmates in Malacanang should have the DECENCY to STOP talking as often, or more often, that the prosecution about Coropna’s impeachment trial.

INC LOBBYING FOR CORONA IMPOSSIBLE, RIDICULOUS!

Reports in the Philippine Daily Inquirer that emissaries of the Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) have been trying to win votes of senator-judges for the acquittal of impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona are IMPOSSIBLE and RIDICULOUS!

First: If ever the INC would carry out an operation like that, it WOULD NOT LOBBY with or approach senator-judges directly at their comfort zones.

That would raise the risks of A LEAK to a maximum.

Instead, the INC would invite whoever is the senator-judge they want to approach to their headquarters or any of their home grounds for MAXIMUM SECRECY.

It wouldn’t take a genius to realize this.

Second: The Inquirer story cited a CONGRESSIONAL INSIDER as the source of the story.

But the subjects of the story are SENATOR-JUDGES!

How can somebody from congress know what’s going on in the confines of senator-judges? Especially NOT JUST ONE but a few since the story mentioned Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.

The source works for Congress and several other senators all at the same time, is that it?

Estrada has officially denied he had been approached by anybody from the INC.

Third: The Inquirer story claimed INC emissaries touched base with several senators to request for a meeting on Corona’s impeachment.

If they indeed touched base with senators, the supposed INC emissaries would have stated their purpose outright and not wait for a meeting depending on the senator’s availability.

With the trial’s conclusion fast approaching, time is of the essence!

Fourth:  With the continued collapse of the prosecution’s case against Corona, THERE’S NO REASON for the INC to lobby for the Chief Justice’s acquittal.

Remember, among others:

The supposed 45 properties of Corona which had been SHAMELESSLY claimed by the prosecution in media even before the trial have been successfully reduced by the defense to the five which the Chief Justice had consistently declared as his only REAL ASSETS.

A majority of Supreme Court justices issued a statement several weeks ago that Corona DID NOTHING WRONG in the tribunals decision on a case involving the Philippine Airlines Employees Association (PALEA), a major issue in one of the articles of impeachment against the Chief Justice.

Bottom line, the supposed lobbying story is nothing less than the latest CHEAP AND AMATEURISH GIMMICK by Corona’s detractors to sow intrigue between him and his supporters to hopefully reduce the growing public sympathy for him.

Whoever taught of this dirty trick needs a seminar on LOGIC.

OSMENA'S UNMISTAKABLE BIAS AGAINST CORONA!

Sen. Sergio Osmeña III SHOWED UNMISTAKABLE BIAS against Chief Justice Renato Corona In an interview with Senate reporters earlier today.

Osmeña said Corona must explain the 82 dollar accounts he allegedly owns which was alleged by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales when she testified in the impeachment trial of the Chief Justice last Monday.

But Osmena DID NOT say Morales MUST ALSO EXPLAIN on the supposed Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) report which she had cited as proof of Corona’s 82 accounts.

Among others: There was NO COURT ORDER for the release of the report to her AS REQUIRED BY LAW, the report was UNSIGNED AND UNAUTHENTICATED and yet presented before the impeachment court and she NEVER BOTHERED TO VERIFY the truth and accuracy of the contents.

But Osmena won’t ask Morales to clarify these LEGAL ABNORMALITIES.

However, he wants Corona to clear his name BASED on Morales’ UNVERIFIED and QUESTIONABLY-OBTAINED GARBAGE!

Under the law, people, it’s the accuser who must prove the guilt of the accused. But in the case of the Chief Justice, Osmena will SHAMELESSLY IGNORE this principle.

Even if Morales’ AMLC report has NO EVIDENTIARY value.

Take note, guys, Osmena even ARROGANTLY warned Corona’s lawyers against raising legal technicalities like the absence of a court order for the AMLC report when Corona testifies on Tuesday.

Kumbaga, WALANG BATAS-BATAS kay Osmena pagdating kay Corona. Kahit na karapatan ng depensa na rumutol sa anumang nangyayaring HINDI TAMA sa kanilang pananaw.

If anybody will still say that this is not bias, Noah Webster will surely twist and turn in his grave.

And somebody had better advise Osmena to STOP USING THE PEOPLE to cover up his partiality against Corona. In the interview, Osmena was quoted as saying that “The public know technicalities will not work at this late stage.”

SOMETHING'S UP WITH THE PROSECUTION!

Something’s up with the prosecution in the impeachment trial, guys. From all indications, it’s not normal.

Members of the prosecution team met with Executive Sec. Paquito Ochoa at  Malacanang Thursday, just five days before Chief Justice Renato testifies in the trial. Caught on camera by an Inquirer photographer were Quezon Rep. Lorenzo Tañada, Mario Bautista and Cavite Rep. Joseph Emilio Abaya.

Tanada said according to Abaya, they had asked Ochoa for possible help in verifying some information.

First: For the prosecution to ask Malacanang for a way to verify information, it can only mean that doing so ISN’T TOTALLY LEGAL or ETHICAL. Whoever does it may run into problems, and it’s only Malacanang who can SETTLE ANY KIND OF TROUBLE.

If they have nothing to hide or fear, the prosecution would have gone DIRECTLY to the government agency handling the information they want and ask for it.

So if anyone among Pnoy’s lapdogs or supporters, or any government agency, suddenly comes out with something nasty against Chief Justice Renato Corona until he testifies on Tuesday, don’t be surprised, people.

But SCRUTINIZE EVERY WORD and EVERY PROOF which will be in the press release, especially if it will come AGAIN FROM ANONYMOUS SOURCES.

Second, the meeting between prosecutors and Ochoa proves that Pnoy had been a DESPICABLE HYPOCRITE all along in saying he has nothing to do with Corona’s impeachment trial.

Otherwise, Ochoa SHOULD NOT HAVE MET with the prosecutors. He should have asked them instead to go directly to the government agency or office which has their need.

Third, the meeting is UNDENIABLE PROOF that the prosecution is in PANIC and has only been trying to BRAINWASH the people with their boasts that they have presented an overwhelming case against Corona.

Fourth: Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda, who has been talking as often as the prosecutors about the impeachment the trial said HE DOESN’T KNOW what Ochoa and the prosecutors talked about.

In other words, he was KEPT IN THE DARK about the meeting.  Of all people, why him?

I must have said it a hundred times but let me repeat it again, people:

It doesn’t follow that since the prosecution and their allies come out with A LOT MORE PRESS RELEASES than Corona, they’re the ones telling the truth and the Chief Justice is guilty.

REMEMBER, Corona will still testify on Tuesday for his side. FAIRNESS DICTATES that one must hear both sides of the story first before rendering judgment.

If you convict Corona based only on the TRIAL BY PUBLICITY he has been going through,. DON’T COMPLIOAN if the same thing happens to you, your friends or your loved ones.

It was probably the shortest but most hard-hitting challenge to any accuser which Chief Justice Renato Corona had made in his lifetime.

Commenting on threats by congressmen and by Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales of another impeachment case should he be acquitted, Corona  addressed his accusers: “See you next year.”

I wonder if anyone from the prosecution, or Morales, understands the true implication of Corona’s invitation.

Corona is telling them, and his supporters, that whatever evidence or new accusation they have presented or made against him is MEANINGLESS. He can readily DEMOLISH all their claims when he testifies on Tuesday, and has not nor will ever lose sleep over the trial.

Sa madalng slita, BALE-WALA kay Corona ang mga pinagsasasabi at PANANAKOT nila sa kabila ng MILYUN-MILYONG PERA NG BAYAN na naubos na nila para dito. Sila pa ngayon ang hinamon.  

Now, think about it, guys:

The Chief Justice would not invite impeachment bullies to the next impeachment they are trying to scare him with if he has even the slightest doubt of his acquittal.

The intelligent guy that he is, Corona’s surely aware that nobody will believe him anymore if he doesn’t live up to the level of confidence he’s now showing when he testifies.

I bet you, Corona would rather die than be cowed by the bullying he’s been going through since the impeachment trial started.

I can hardly wait for a SENSIBLE REACTION from the prosecution.

And since Corona’s accusers have been repeatedly praising Morales’ UNVERIFIED evidence against his supposed dollar accounts from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), consider the following, guys: 

In a news story in inquirer.net, retired Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) accountant-lawyer Estrella Martinez said Corona was under no obligation to reveal his dollar accounts.

Martinez cited the Foreign Currency Deposit Act (RA 6426) and the Supreme Court’s temporary restraining order preventing the impeachment court from looking into Corona’s dollar deposits.

Martinez, an expert on statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) and holder of a master’s degree in law from the University of the Philippines, said a “dollar deposit cannot be declared as (an) asset in the SALN because this will not affect his net worth.

She said Corona’s decision to take the witness stand and disclose his supposed dollar deposits is not an “expressed consent” as required by law. Since Corona’s on trial and under pressure to belie his accusers, the testimony could be considered a “coerced consent” and would not be admissible as evidence.

Martinez dismissed Morales’ 17-page proof against Corona as “just a sheet of paper with no probative value.”  She said the document was not even signed or validated. “You can pick that up in the garbage can.”

“Assuming, God forbid, that Corona is convicted because of SALN, everybody will be impeachedm” Martinez added.

He brought the documents even though he knew these were UNVERIFIED OR UNAUTHENTICATED. He admitted under oath that he doesn’t even know where these came from.

Now, Keh is the boss of the Ateneo de Manila’s school for government. He wouldn’t be in that position if he weren’t SMART.

So he’s fully aware that only an IDIOT would dare give unverified documents to Enrile, which would be nothing less than DEMEANING and INSULTING to the Senate President.

But KEH DID JUST THAT!

Unless Keh would admit to being STUPID, RUDE and CONDESCENDING by nature, which I highly doubt, the only other possible explanation is HE WAS ASSURED BY WHOEVER that there wouldn’t be any problem to it.

Adding fire to the supervision of unseen people of Keh’s movements was the presence of a TV crew of ABS-CBN in Enrile’s office when he delivered his unauthenticated evidence versus Corona.

The TV crew was there because THEY KNEW Keh was coming and for what purpose. Somebody TIPPED THEM OFF! But Keh said IT WAS NOT HIM!

Obviously, it couldn’t have been a GHOST either!

And when he was being questioned under oath by Senator-Judge Jinggoy Estrada, if he had informed other media people about his evidence, Keh initially claimed he did not.

But when pressed for the truth by Estrada, and warned that he would be confronted with personalities if he lied, Keh CONFESSED and pointed to friends in Abante and the Philippine Daily Inquirer as two of the media people he had informed about his documents.

It’s common knowledge that no one can lie under oath, in any court. Keh surely knows this. But he still had the balls to try to FOOL Estrada, and for that matter the entire impeachment court.

No one in his right mind would try to pull off a stunt like that, UNLESS that person has been guaranteed that it won’t lead him to trouble.

So, the question: What made Keh LIE, and risk his reputation in the process? Who forced, or brainwashed him into it? For what? The answers can very well reveal possible secrets behind the impeachment trial of Corona.

Why don’t we join forces in pursuing the truth, people?
