Former Congressman and presidential uncle Jose “Peping” Cojuangco Jr.’s claim that Chief Justice Renato Corona “campaigned” for the Supreme Court (SC) ruling on the distribution of the sugar estate to its farmer-beneficiaries is RUBBIISH!

Anyone among the six associate SC justices who had voted against the decision would have readily exposed this in media if it were true.

It would have meant INSTANT FAME and the respect and recognition of every Filipino.

But NOBODY DID!

The six dissenters surely realize that revealing the supposed campaigning by Corona at a later date would only cast very serious DOUBT on its veracity, and on the MOTIVE of whoever will expose it.

Besides, it would be IDIOTIC for Corona to campaign for the decision on Hacienda Luisita since he’s fully aware that Pnoy has his own appointees in the SC already.

WHY LATEST ANTI-CORONA SURVEY IS UNBELIEVABLE!

Here are four major reasons why the latest supposed survey against Chief Justice Renato Corona are UNBELIEVABLE  and without any CREDIBILITY whatsoever.

First, NOBODY HAS OPENLY spoken out for more than a month to demand Corona’s resignation, or say he or she believes in what supposed surveys claim as opinions or impressions against the Chief Justice.

NOT ONE group or individual, without any KNOWN LINKS to Pnoy’s government. Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

As I’ve pointed out in an earlier blog, the anti-Corona rallies HAVE STOPPED! The same thing has happened with paid advertisements in major daily newspapers in the form of condemnations of Corona or calls for him to step down.

Second, it’s only Pulse Asia or Social Weather Stations (SWS) which continue coming out with alleged anti-Corona sentiments in their surveys.

But KEEP IN MIND, people, among the the big guns of those two survey firms are RELATIVES of Pnoy like businessman Tony Boy Cojuangco. FAIRNESS is through the proverbial eye of a needle.

Especially considering the fact that they have NEDVER COME OUT with their survey results in public for independent scrutiny, and polls favorable to Pnoy come out automatically whenever public discontent over a government move is evident.

Third, whether or not Pnoy’s supporters and anti-Corona groups admit it, the prosecution has been STEADILY GOING DOWN THE DRAIN in the impeachment trial.

Fourth, the testimony of Justice Sec. Leila de Lima as a witness for the prosecution has been ruled as HEARSAY by the impeachment court.

The original eight articles of impeachment are down to three.  The supposed 45 properties owned by Corona were reduced, first to 21, then lesser until the trial went on a break.

No less than Supreme Court associate justices have publicly declared that Corona did not commit any unlawful act in the tribunal’s deliberations and decision on a case involving the Flight Attendants and Stewards Association of the Philippines (IFASAP).

ABS-CBN has confirmed from private sector sources the financial capability of Corona’s daughter Charina to buy a house in California, USA and a condominium here at home, both on installment.

Fourth, the testimony of Justice Sec. Leila de Lima as a witness for the prosecution has been ruled as HEARSAY by the impeachment court.

The people are NOT STUPID to continue BLINDLY condemning Corona with these unfolding events.

Only a FOOL, along with Pnoy and the prosecution and their minions, will!

Justice Secretary Leila de Lima is against the move of the defense to call her as a hostile witness in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Kung makaporma ito at makapagsalita siya, akala mo saksakan ng tapang. Yun pala, DUWAG DIN!

De Lima had REPEATEDLY and DIRECTLY ATTACKED Corona in the past. She dared defy the Supreme Court on its temporary restraining order allowing former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to travel late last year.

She had also aired threats of impeaching other SC justices perceived to be loyal to Corona.

But now that Corona’s lawyers want her back at the impeachment trial, she’s already objecting even if the Senate Impeachment Court has NOT YET ruled on the defense plan.

De Lima must be AWARE of, if not behind, something terribly NASTY or UNLAWFUL in relation to the impeachment trial that might be squeezed out of her by Corona’s lawyers.

Remember guys, under questioning by lead defense counsel and retired Supreme Court Associate Justice Serafin Cuevas, De Lima was forced to admit that her first testimony in the impeachment trial was HEARSAY!

If De Lima is not into anything ILLEGAL in relation to the impeachment trial, there’s no reason for her to avoid testifying for the defense, even as a hostile witness.

If she’s 100 percent convinced of Corona’s guilt as what she been consistently professing, the more she’ll grab the opportunity to testify for the defense.

It would be a golden chance for her to nail Corona to the wall with whatever evidence she thinks she has.

Her refusal to do so this early can only be interpreted as an admission that she has a WEAK CASE against Corona. Should she move Heaven and Earth to keep her from testifying for the defense, it would just be like telling the prosecution she’ll do them more harm than good.

Kahapon, si Supreme Court (SC) spokesman Midas Marquez lang ang NABASTOS ni Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda.

Pero ngayon, BUONG KORTE SUPREMA na ang BINABASTOS at BINABALE-WALA, nina Hacienda Luisita Inc  (HLI) lawyer Antonio Ligon at Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Sec. Virgilio delos Reyes.

As we all know by now, the SC has pegged the value of Luisita at P40,000 per hectare as basis for the compensation the owners should get, or close to P200 million for the 4,915.75-hectare hacienda.

But The Philippine Star reported that Ligon says ONLY THE DAR and the LAND BANK OF THE PHILIPPINES (LBP) could come up with the exact figure for the compensation.

Meaning, for Ligon, the DAR and the LBP are HIGHER than the SC.

The SC is the FINAL INTERPRETER of the law.  I’m not a lawyer but I’m aware of the fact that every lawyer knows this, and can never dispute this.

Kaya walang ibang puiwedeng maging kahulugan ang sinabi ni Ligon kundi LANTARANG PAMBABASTOS sa Korte Suprema. If Ligon will say he’s not being rude or disrespectful to the SC, then he’s a STUPID LAWYER.

But this, he’ll surely deny to high heavens.

Ligon even tried to make the HLI owners look magnanimous in defeat and deeply law-abiding people by saying, in a statement: “We will not challenge the ruling. No pleading will be filed.”

Of course they won’t, because they know it will be USELESS.

The SC decision CATEGORICALLY stated that NO MORE PLEADINGS on the case will be entertained by the tribunal.  Even a high school kid will readily understand the meaning of these words.

Kaya dapat na siyang TUMIGIL SA PAGPAPA-CUTE!

Unless Ligon doesn’t mind looking like an IDIOT just to earn ‘pogi points’ from his clients.

For his part, Delos Reyes said the DAR will have to inspect Luisita before doing a valuation of the property. Again, this despite the P40,000 set by the SC for every hectare.

A million to one, the DAR, or any other government agency for that matter, DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER to amend or review any SC DECISION.

This is ARROGANCE and RUDENESS of the highest order!

Delos Reyes said the LBP will determine the INITIAL valuation for Luisita based on conditions set by the SC and existing applicable guidelines.              

COMMON SENSE will dictate that the SC arrived at P40,000 per hectare based not only on existing guidelines but also THE LAW.

It would be IDIOTIC for anyone to think or insinuate that the P40,000 was, or may have been, simply what the SC had felt like tagging on Luisita. 

Bottom Line: The DISRESPECT of Pnoy’s Administration of the SC is getting more and more UNDENIABLE!

When the Executive branch of government does not respect the Judiciary, that means the LAW SHJOULD BE WHAT THEY WANT, not what it is.

That would be a DICTATORSHIP! That’s the danger we’re facing!

I  ust can’t recall the exact words but Pnoy pledged long ago that he will not intervene in the Supreme Court case regarding the distribution and valuation of Hacienda Luisita Inc. (HLI).

But look at his HYPOCRISY now on the issue:L

Hacienda Luisita is a PRIVATE COMPANY! It’s totally owned by family members and relatives of Pnoy!  And Pnoy supposedly divested his shares in it when he assumed the presidency in June 30, 2010.

But Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda reacted sharply to the valuation,  to the point of saying they can’t take the word of SC Spokesman Midas Marquez on the valuation because they haven’t read the decision yet.

So the question is: Who’s they?

At ano ba ang PAKIALAM ni Lacierda, o ng kaniyang opisina bilang presidential spokjesma, sa Hacienda Luisita?  Tauhan din ba siya ng HLI?

Lacierda will most likely deny any links to HLI. The next question, therefore, is why is he speaking out on the issue?  Who ordered him to and for what purpose?

Keep in mind, people, that Lacierda is the presidential spokesman, the MOUTHPIECE of Pnoy. And Pnoy isn’t STOPPING HIM from talking.

If Lacierda will say that it’s on his own free will, then he should not use government time, premises and equipment in doing so. But he did.  Who allowed him to?

A day or two before the SC decision on the valuation came out, Lacierda’s deputy Abigail Valte commented that just compensation is the final issue in the HLI SC case.

Again, ano ang pakialam ni Valte sa HLI?
