As expected, President
Aquino has disputed the higher unemployment figures reported in a survey by the
Social Weather Stations (SWS) which said that 9.7 million Filipinos have been
jobless in the last three months.
Among others, Pnoy
claimed that from October 2010 to
October 2011, two million jobs were generated by his
administration.
But he didn’t cite even
one company or industry which took in new workers and how many. He didn’t name
even one newly-hired individual by any company anywhere in the country.
Pnoy said the
unemployment rate even went down by.4 percent, from 7.4 to 7 percent.
But again, he couldn’t
cite anything SPECIFIC to prove it.
Presidential spokesman
Edwin Lacierda echoed Pnoy’s claim of a reduction in the jobless rate.
But the only proof he
could cite was the expectedly self-serving Labor Force Survey conducted
quarterly by the National Statistics Office (NSO) and its supposedl 54,000
respondents.
Lacierda did not
identify even one of the supposed 54,000 respondents or where did they all come
from. He had no detailed explanation on how did the Pnoy government manage to
reduce he ranks of the jobless.
Lacierda said the
government had implemented short-term and long-term programs to address both
unemployment and underemployment.
But he couldn’t cite
even one of these supposed programs, where it is being carried out and for
whom.
On top of all these,
boys and girls, don’t forget two things:
An earlier SWS survey
which said the incidence of hunger went up, and which Malacanang miserably
failed to belie.
Complaints and
observations by the business sector itself that the economy is on a slowdown, if
not in a state of paralysis, which Malacanang also failed to disprove.
Even a high school kid
will have the common sense to realize that these two conditions would not have
happened if more people had truly found jobs.
Except for a leather
goods (if I’m correct) manufacturing plant in Tarlac and a facility by a big
foreign shipping firm, there has been NOTHING WHATSOEVER which could justify
the two million new jobs being alleged by Pnoy.
No successive openings
or inaugurations of new plants or companies, no reported mass recruitment of
workers by any company, no massive spending for infrastructure projects by the government,
no nothing.
Anybody correct me if
I’m wrong.
So unless Pnoy or
Lacierda can present SPECIFIC DETAILS, don’t let them FOOL YOU guys that the
jobless rate had in fact fallen, and not increased.
It only means they’re
LYING through their teeth, and making IDIOTS or SUCKERS out of us.
And we’ll be on the
losing end, not them! 30
