JPE, FVR, GRINGO ARE THE REAL EDSA 1 HEROES!

Today being the start of the four-day commemoration of the EDSA 1 People Power in 1986, let’s set the record straight once and for all.

Former PresIdent Cory Aquino IS NOT THE REAL HERO of EDSA 1.

Credit should go FULLY to then Defense Minister Juan Ponce Enrile, then Armed Forces Vice Chief of Staff Fidel V. Ramos and then Army Lt. Col. Gregorio ‘Gringo’ Honasan and his boys in the Reform the Armed Forces Movement (RAM).

The people went to EDSA then NOT BECAUSE OF CORY.

The people massed at EDSA when then Manila Archbishop Jaime Cardinal Sin called upon the masses to go there and support Enrile, Ramos, Honasan and RAM following their breakaway from, the Marcos Administration.  

Enrile’s group withdrew support from the Marcos Administration NOT BECAUSE OF CORY, but because of abuses they could no longer bear.

Cory WAS NOT AROUND when the breakaway started. Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but neither was anyone from Cory’s family, relatives or known close-in aides.

It was only Enrile, Ramos, Honasan and RAM and the people who were at the FRONTLINE against Marcos forces.

They were the only ones who FACED THE RISK of a MASSACRE by Marcos forces for the FOUR DAYS that EDSA 1 ran, from Feb. 22 until it ended with the escape of the Marcoses in Feb. 25.

Cory and his minions appeared ONLY WHEN EVERYTHING WAS ALL OVER.

But long before EDSA 1 started, NOBODY among Cory and their camp ever dared TO TAKE UP ARMS against the Marcos government. NOT ONCE did anyone of them call for ‘people power’ to topple the late former strongman.

So for anyone to consider or proclaim Cory as the ‘mother of democracy,’ or the one who led EDSA 1 or other similar titles which have been repeatedly bestowed on her all these years is GROSSLY UNFAIR AND MISLEADING!

It’s a DEPRIVATION of due credit and a MALICIOUS DISINFORMATION for vested interests.

The youth, and future generations, must NO LONGER BE MISLED or FED with this LIE. Whoever insists on doing so must be given an IMMEDIATE SEMINAR on TRUTH AND FAIRNESS.

And does not deserve any CREDIBILITY, as in none, form herepn.

It's no other’s fault but the prosecution because they were told to do a preliminary hearing before the trial so that they'll know what to do with a defective article, whether to submit it or cancel it depending on the allegations. Unlike now, if they amend it, it will take one year because they have to bring that article back to the plenary and wait for a year before they can present it to the Upper House (or Senate) for a trial. That's why they don't have any choice but to junk it. This is all their fault!
