DE LIMA WEAKENS PROSECUTION CASE!

Justice Sec.  Leila de Lima has SERIOUSLY WEAKENED allegations of bias against Chief Justice Renato Corona in the articles of impeachment he is facing before the Senate Impeachment Court.

De Lima admitted that by and large, her testimony is indeed hearsay “because I was never there (during Supreme Court deliberations)."

De Lima cited supposed proof of alleged wrongful acts of Corona from a dissenting opinion of Associate Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno on the temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by the Supreme Court which could have allowed former President Gloria Arroyo to go abroad.

But she FAILED to dispute a manifestation by Sen. Miriam Santiago that everything that she had said was nothing more than opinions.

De Lima also conceded the fact  that Supreme Court decisions, including the issuance of TROs,  are collegial or by the majority and not by just one justice alone.

She failed to cite even one instance wherein Corona PERSONALLY CARRIED OUT ANY ACT against any justice to win his or her vote on any particular issue.

Eventually, Presiding Senator-Judge Juan Ponce Enrile suggested to the other senators to disregard the truth or falsehood of De Lima’s statements bases on the dissenting opinion of Sereno.

Consider these, ladies and gentlemen:

Now, it’s hearsay testimony from De Lima. Before this, it’s the LEAKED or ILLEGALLY OBTAINED and QUESTIONABLE copy of the prosecution of the supposed PSBank records of Corona.

Related to this, the supposed ‘short lady’ which allegedly supplied the records to the prosecution and the closed circuit  television (CCTV) footage which belied this.

Before all these, the prosecution’s first claim that Corona owned 45 properties, only to downgrade this to 21 after several days.

These are what we have been getting from the prosecution, ladies and gentlemen. Don’t forget that it’s our taxes which are being spent for the impeachment trial.

At the very least, we deserve something BETTER. Something MUCH, MUCH BETTER!

Cory was in Cebu at that time, hiding in a convent, protected by Ramon Mitra and his bodyguards. But the statement that no yellowtard legion was on EDSA from the beginning is not entirely true. It was Butz Aquino and his ATOM (August 21 Movement) who started the EDSA vigil. Mayor Fred Lim was also instrumental since he intentionally ignored orders to disperse the EDSA crowd early on.

Those who believed JPE, Ramos and Gringo Honasan are the real heroes of EDSA 1 are obviously misinformed. I’'m fully informed of that 'coz I was a participant of that revolution, and tuned-in every day more than 12 hours a day on Radio Veritas since February 22, 1986, when JPE-RAM's coup plot was busted that they all nervously called for people's support to save their lives. They called Jaime Cardinal Sin to help rally people to block Marcos' army from attacking them.
