SIGNS OF A JUETENG PAYOLA RECIPIENT!

Since jueteng is in the limelight again, here are some tell-tale signs of recipients of payola or bribe money:

Purchase or construction of a new home, and acquisition of new vehicle (s), expensive jewelry and top-of-the-line appliances and furniture WITHOUT ANY KNOWN OR VISIBLE source of multi-million earnings

Sudden expansion or total renovation of existing home, again without any known or visible source of funds

Sudden charity work, especially FINANCIAL AID to the poor or to the sick.,

Transfer of kids to known expensive or exclusive schools for the rich

Transfer of residence to a more expensive village

Increasing number of vacations, domestic or foreign

Noticeable and continued change in lifestyle or spending habits, like dining in known expensive restaurants or purchases of luxury items like designer clothes and the latest mobile phone models.

The usual alibis for these are either as gifts or an inheritance from a rich relative or sibling.

But the suspected jueteng bribe recipient has always been known to have come from a poor family or clan, and does not hold any high or influential position at work which attracts gifts from favor-seekers.

Some bribe recipients may not be as VULGAR as their peers. Here are some indicators for them:

Increasing visits to the bank, without any known new source of a bigger income.

Increasing trips abroad, either by the recipient himself or herself or by the children. This is to either deposit the bribe in banks or purchase properties.

Increasing visits to the casinos or other known gambling joints like cockpits

Known stiff resistance to be relieved from current position or place of assignment, especially in publicly known jueteng havens like Central and Southern Luzon

Once you notice any of these signs on a person, try to find out as much information as you can. Ask help from or join forces with your friends if necessary.
