PNOY'S COLD-BLOODEDNESS OR INCOMPETENCE, OR BOTH!

(I came up with this piece based on a post by our friend Isabel Juico.)

This is either COLD-BLOODEDNESS or INCOMPETENCE, or both, of Pnoy then and now, in and out of Malacanang.

It has been 35 years since some 20 or so protesting farmers were massacred on Mendiola Bridge in Manila. The president then was Pnoy’s mother, Cory.  Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but NEVER was it known that Pnoy did something to help capture and punish the killers.

The Mendiola killers remain UNIDENTIFIED AND UNPUNISHED up to now.

In the early 2000s (2004 or 2007), close to 10 protesting farm workers were gunned down outside Hacienda Luisita. Pnoy was vice-president for security then of the hacienda.

Pnoy was cleared of any liability but just like the Mendiola massacre, NO EFFORT sustained or otherwise, by Pnoy was reported to help identify and punish the killers.

I just can’t recall exactly who said it but there was a story in media then that the shots which killed the fatalities came from outside.

However, television news video of the farmers fleeing when gunshots rang out CLEARLY SHOWED THEM RUNNING AWAY from, and not towards, the hacienda.

As one of the farmers’ leaders I talked to summed it up, “Bakit namin sasalubungin ang bala kung sa labas ng hacienda galling ang mga putok?”

The butchers behind the Hacienda Luisita massacre remain free.

During the hostage crisis at the Luneta more than a year ago involving tourists from Hong Kong, it was widely reported that Pnoy was NOWHERE to be found, even by media.

And that no less than the leader of Hong Kong TRIED BUT FAILED to talk to him.

As we all know by now, several (was it eight) of the tourists were killed by the hostage-taker. Pnoy only showed up when it was over. Up to now, NOBODY has been punished or disciplined for the bloodbath due to the poor handling of the crisis.

The massacre of 19 soldiers in Basilan is still UNSOLVED, But just days after the slaughter, Pnoy SECRETLY GAVE P5 MILLION to the Mori Islamic Liberation Front, to which the killers belonged.

Isipin ko pa lang ay KINIKILABUTAN NA AKO kung ano ang gagawin ni Pnoy kapag nagkaroon ng MAS MALAGIM, na massacre bukod sa mga binanggit ko rito.
