IF ATYANI DIES OR GETS HURT, BLAME ROBREDO!

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jesse Robredo now says Jordanian TV journalist Baker Atyani and his two Filipino crewmen are now being held hostage by Abu Sayyaf bandits.

But PNP Directorate for Integrated Police Operations head Chief Superintendent Manuel Barcena says there’s no proof to what Robredo is claiming.

These two officials are on the same team, with one higher in rank than the other.  But what do we get -- two TOTALLY CONTRADICTORY UPDATES on the same crisis situation.

But it seems Robredo and Barcena are not coordinating with each other, which is VERY BASIC between a boss and his subordinates.

All these just a day after Jordan’s Foreign Ministry declared that Atyani’s and his companions were abducted in Sulu province while on a reporting assignment

Question: Who’s LYING or who’s INCOMPETENT, or both, Robredo or Barcena?

As DILG boss, Robredo has supervisory power over the PNP.  But take note of the following, boys and girls:

There’s NO CONFIRMED STORY yet on how Atyani and his two companions went missing. Robredo and other local and police officials consistently say the three were not taken by force or abducted.

But they have NOT YET PRESENTED ANY WITNESS who can prove that Atyani’s group indeed arrived on their own and unmolested at the supposed Abu Sayyaf camp they’re into now.

It has not been even proven beyond doubt by anyone that the supposed ‘general location’ of Atyani’s group, which military officials claim they already know, is their original destination in the first place.

All we have been hearing are the words of Robredo and police and military commanders with him.

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong.

But you know what’s both DESPICABE AND INTRIGUING with Robredo’s handling of the crisis, people?

His statement that no search-and-rescue operation would be launched by the police  even if he himself says Atyani’s groiup are now being held hostage by  Abu Sayyaf  bandits, and that the government “will wait and see.”

ANONG KLASENG UTAK KAYA MERON SI ROBREDO?

When one is held hostage, that’s ILLEGAL DETENTION, A CRIMINAL ACT.  Any criminal act, as in any, must be STOPPED AT ONCE, as in immediately, by police or other authorities with whatever means possible.

But Robredo would WAIT FIRST for WHATEVER it is and just let the criminal act, which HE HIMSELF REVEALED, to continue.

So if, God forbid, Atyani and or his companions are HARMED OR KILLED by the people holding them hostage, NOBODY else should be blamed but Robredo.

Ano ang batas na patungkol sa pag-gastos nito? Pag may hindi kanais-nais na pangyayari o pagdududa, ano ang maaaring gawin ng sambayanan upang maayos ito? I think it is just a wise practical decision. The $1B is part of the $77B monetary reserve managed by BSP (It's some kind of a requirement and it is the basis of the Peso valuation and the exchange rate). This fund cannot be used by govt for internal budget expenditures. Either it is just sleeping/ 'reserved' with the IMF or since we're already paid up with our loans w/ IMF, we can loan it to other countries and earn from it. Ito ay separate fund from the budget dahil pag binawasan mo ang dollar reseves ng bansa, bababa lalo ang value ng piso, therefore mas mahihirapan tayo magbayad ng utang. Sana lang magresearch muna tayo ng maayos about intl funds bago magreact. I'm not pro-Noynoy, but cut the guy some slack and give credit when it is due.

(My reply: I didn’t say that the $77B reserve fund should be used outright for classrooms and other infra projects. All I said was there’s no effort  on the part of Pnoy, or anyone for that matter, to try to amend the law so that even part of the $77 billion could be used for infra and other needs of the people. If people from other countries can avail of it through the IMF, the more should we be given a chance for the same. I suggest you read my blog again.)

It would have been easier to accept the verdict of CJ Corona had the impeachment gone through proper procedure. But since the beginning of the impeachment, rules were never followed. The CJ was denied due process.
