P10-B MOTIVE BEHIND CORONA IMPEACHMENT!

Chief Justice Renato Corona’s revelation that he had blocked the demand of Pnoy’s relatives for P10-billion for the distribution of Hacienda Luisita to farmer-beneficiaries gives a VERY SERIOUS MOTIVE for the impeachment of the country’s top magistrate.

Pnoy must explain this very THOROUGHLY. If he won’t, or will simply say it’s not true, he will only ADD CREDIBILITY to Corona’s allegation.

Why? Think about these, people:

In his fist media interview yesterday since his impeachment trial began, Corona CATEGORICALLY said he must be removed first from office before Pnoy’s relatives can get the P10 billion.

Corona would not issue a very specific statement like that if he had no proof. And you don’t counter proof with mere denials.

Malacanang has pointed out several times that even Pnoy’s appointees in the Supreme Court voted for the distribution of Hacienda Luisita to farmer-beneficiaries.

But Malacanang has never said anything about Corona blocking the P10-bilion compensation sought by Pnoy’s relatives.

So Pnoy must clarify if Corona’s claim is true or not.  If it is, what has been done about it, by whom and when?  Have there been any talks with Corona? What were the results?

Most of all, Pnoy must PUBLICLY PLEDGE that he and his relatives will settle for anything less than P10 billion for the Hacienda in case the Supreme Court rejects their demand.

These issues can prove whether or not Pnoy’s crusade to oust Corona is purely out of his moral convictions, and not GREED hiding behind the cloak of morality.

And let’s not forget, guys:

The move to oust Corona began shortly after the Supreme Court voted for the distribution of the Hacienda. Pnoy himself led the assault with his PERSONAL and NON-STOP attacks on Corona.

The articles of impeachment were RUSHED in the House of Representatives. It did not even go through deliberations and was immediately transmitted to the Senate.

At least three congressmen who did not sign the complaint revealed that they were asked to do so even if they had not read the articles of impeachment yet.

Supreme Court rulings are decisions of the majority, and not by Corona alone.

But only Corona was SINGLED OUT in the complaint of Philippine Airlines employees against the withdrawal of a Supreme Court decision granting billions of pesos in back wages and benefits to them.

And most of all, the prosecution DOES NOT HAVE A MONOPOLY of the truth in the impeachment trial. Not everything they say is automatically the truth.

Trillanes' "lie" may have averted the plans for a coup. It's a simple tactic of telling the plotters that their plans have been uncovered. Malacanang may dismiss the info in the media but I bet they are very much concerned with the veracity of Trillanes' info.
