CORONA GAINING UPPER HAND!

Whether or not the prosecution and pro-Pnoy legions admit it, Chief Justice Renato Corona is slowly but steadily getting the upper hand in his impeachment trial.

Former Manila Mayor Lito Atienza testified to the authenticity of documents showing that  Corona’s wife Cristina was authorized  by  a corporation owned by her family to negotiate  the sale of and accept the payment for a P34- million the firm owned in Sampaloc, Manila.

Corona had alleged that the P11-million loan that he had declared in his statement of asset, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) for the  purchase of a property in La Vista,  Quezon City came from the sake.

As I was writing this piece, Atienza was being asked by some senators on what they find as questionable in the sale. But Senate President and Presiding Judge Juan Ponce Enrile himself pointed out that it was IMMATERIAL to the impeachment case against Corona.

Earlier, the Supreme Court , voting 7-2, absolved Corona of any  wrongdoing in the recall of the Supreme Court’s Sept. 7, 2011, decision declaring with finality the illegal retrenchment by Philippine Air Lines (PAL) of 1,400 members of the Flight Attendants and Stewards Association of the Philippines (FASAP).

The case was one of the grounds for Corona’s impeachment for culpable violation of the Constitution and betrayal of public trust.

The Supreme Court said it had made the recall on its own and Corona had inhibited himself from the case. It added that Corona had “acted only on the recommendation of the ruling division.”

In the midst of all these, the number of properties allegedly owned by Corona is down from the initial 45 boasted of by the prosecution to 21.

As some senator-judges themselves pointed out, the 21 would still be reduced if the defense further proves that most of the properties don’t belong to the Chief Justice and as such, need not be declared in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN)

Like properties belonging to Corona’s children above 18 years old, which he didn’t need to declare under the law.

I’m not saying that Corona has won.

What I’m saying is so far, the defense has been consistently presenting convincing evidence disproving the articles of impeachment against Corona.

And the Supreme Court decision clearing the Chief Justice of any wrongful act in the FASAP case practically eliminates one of the three remaining articles.

It’s not over yet. But believe me. people, we can expect A LOT and ALL KINDS of BLACK PROPAGANDA and MIND-CONDITIONING efforts for our PREMATURE conviction of Corona.

HUWAG TAYONG PALOLOKO! ANG MANLOLOKO, KAPATID NG DEMONYO.

DIAZ HAD BETTER TELL THE TRUTH!

TOM BERENGUER of Makati
Diaz is covering up for something. Recall Tupas' declaration that the list of 45 properties did not come from the prosecution but from the LRA. Now, Diaz is stating that Tupas called him up, requesting for the list. He (Diaz) did not have the list ready when the request was made, then flip flops and says he had the list ready even before the request was made because the media was also asking for the list. Someone is involved here.

LETTY ARCILLA
Nakangisi pa nga si Diaz at ang prosecution panel habang sinesermunan ni MDS (Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago) ang witness. Kaunting sundot pa, Sir Boyet, bibigay na si Diaz.

PRIMO CRISOSTOMO of Farmville, Virginia, USA
I really can't fathom the DEPTH of STUPIDITY of this creature. He is SACRIFICING his DIGNITY just to please the whims and caprices of a perceived VINDICTIVE god.

JUNN OFREDO
Risking his career and reputation.

EGGAYMANGUBAT
Mr. Boyet, simple lang naman yun. Sabihin na lang ni Diaz sa isang closed door session  si Pnoy ang me utos at utouto lang itong si Rep. Niel Tupaz. Then, botohan na. Tapos na Impeachment. Diaz should resign now.

RICKY MONFORT of Bacolod City
My take on this Diaz is that he did not expect, nor did the prosecution, that the trial will go to this length and thought all the while that the CJ will resign after showing these kind of evidences. But low and behold, he did not resign and faced his detractors squarely and now the truth is coming out and boomeranging on the sources like Diaz. Thanks for the post, Boyet.
