PNOY SUPPORTING CHARTER CHANGE DRIVE!

I do not believe Malacanang’s statement that Pnoy is lukewarm or not interested in amending the Constitution or Charter at this time.

I will dare say instead that has GIVEN HIS BLESSINGS and is ALL OUT for it.

Think about this, guys: The two leading and most vocal, all-out advocates of Charter change are Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and House Speaker Sonny Belmonte.

Considering that his congressmen-son Jack is running for senator next year, Enrile will not risk antagonizing anti-Charter change advocates and lose their votes if he has no assurance of rock-solid support.

The kind of support that only the logistics and political machinery of Pnoy and his Liberal Party can give.

On the part of the House, it’s like the impeachment all over again, with Belmonte PERSONALLY ORCHESTRATING the initiative.  Whoever supports Charter change will surely expect something in return, especially for the elections next year.

You don’t expect Belmonte to use his personal resources, do you?

Now, Malacanang will of course deny any and all support for amendments to the Constitution in the strongest possible terms. Pnoy would not want to be accused of working for the extension of his term, and hasten the disappearance of his gasping image of moral righteousness.

But it would not take a genius to realize that Pnoy is the BIGGEST BENEFICIARY of Charter change.

At the very least, he gets the credit for any and all constitutional amendments, especially if these will prove beneficial to the people, since it’s  under his administration. He can claim that changes happened during his watch.

But more importantly, amendments which can EXTEND HIS TERM LEGALLY or ENABLE HIM to TIGHTEN HS CONTROL on the government can be introduced once Charter change starts

Personally, I find this as the main reason for the drive to amend the Constitution. Economic amendments as the ground for Charter changer is rubbish. 

It would be RIDICULOUS to think or believe that our senators and congressmen did not notice these supposedly needed amendments to the Constitution. Why didn’t they move for these then is BEYOND COMPREHENSION.

Believe me, neither will any senator or congressman admit to amnesia or poor or distorted sense of priorities or values.

BE READY FOR ANY EVENTUALITY, PEOPLE! 30
