CORONA PROSECUTORS' LATEST MALICIOUS GIMMICK!

Here’s the latest MALICIOUS GIMMICK of the prosecution in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

The hotly-debated acquisition costs of the properties which Corona had declared in his statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) are indicated in their deeds of absolute sale.

The deeds of absolute sale are filed with the Bueau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for payment of capital gains.

And defense counsel Ramon Esguerra told newsmen copies of the deeds of absolute sale had been submitted as evidence by the prosecution.

Therefore, the prosecution KNEW the acquisition costs of Corona’s properties ALL ALONG. Unless they’ll say they’re suffering from SELECTIVE BLINDNESS.

But in the last hearing, the prosecution DID NOT SHOW ANY INDCTATION that they knew the acquisition costs of Corona’s properties.

Instead, the prosecution immediately and MALICIOUSLY accused Corona of being UNTRUTHFUL for the missing figures. And their media allies readily came out with supportive stories.

When they, and their media allies, could have asked why was the acquisition cost not indicated in the SALN when it was in the deeds of absolute sale in the first place.

This is how DIRTY AND MALICIOUS the prosecution can get.

Considering that for the past several weeks, they and their boss in Malacanang have been arrogantly BOASTING in media that they have a solid case against Corona.

I’m not a lawyer. I don’t work for Corona either and anybody can verify this anytime.

But with the acquisition costs being in the deeds of absolute sale, it would be GROSSLY UNFAIR and PATHETICALLY MISLEADING for anyone to accuse Corona of bad faith or to insist on it.

More than ever, the explanation of the Chief Justice must be heard, FIRST, in whatever manner he deems best before anyone passes his or her own judgment.

And the prosecution’s media allies should broadcast or print the explanation in the newspapers with THE SAME PROMINENCE given to their accusations against the Chief Justice.

As I’ve said before, we’re in a democracy. Fair play is a major component of democracy which listens to both sides of a story first before a verdict is rendered.

Anyone who doesn’t believe in fair play had better start packing their bags for communist countries like Russia or China.

SO WHERE’S THE VAT ON OIL MAR. VALTE?

BHAXZ RYDER
11 (profit) per liter of gasoline sold is so much \money.

DONN IDOS of Paranaque City
Posibleng sa bulsa nila. VAT is close to P2 billion a month so I don’t think that they do not know where the hell they are spending it. GMA then allocated it to infra and debt repayments as stipulated by the International Monetary Fund.

RODEL RAMIL of Kowloon City, Hong Kong
So funny! Social services daw. Tama, karapatan ng buong sambayanan na malaman kung saang sector ginagamit ang pondo galing sa VAT. As I remember, during the time of GMA, hindi ba't halos magwala si Mar sa Senado na tanggalin ang VAT sa langis? Ngayon, iba na tono niya. Ipokrito rin ang isang ito!

CRISTY MARIE REYES of Iloilo City
Iyang si Mar Roxas, aristocrato yan. Mabuti lang yan pag election. Kasi may kailangan sa tao pero pag nakaupo na, wala nang pakialam.

SALVADOR OLEO of Iligan City
Corrupt din pala sila. At sinolo pa lahat.

SAMUEL ROLDAN of Olongapo City
Ang mga pumansin sa pangungurakot noon,, siIa ang nangungurakot ngayon. Yan ang kagandahan ng nasa position ka, maeenjoy mo lahat ng mga pwedeng kurakutin.

CHRISTINE PORCIUNCULA of Valenzuela City
Simple lang naman sagot diyan eh: KINAMKAM NA NILA.

BITUINMORY VILLANUEVA
Nasa kanila.

DON’’T BE FOOLED WITH CORONA SALN DISCREPANCY!

ED OLIFERNES
The problem here is that Corona should not have been remiss in his SALN. A lot of lowly government employees have been dismissed by the Supreme Court for being untruthful with their SALN. Being the highest official in the Supreme Court, it is expected that Corona has dutifully and faithfully discharges the letters of the Constitution. If he errs in filing, and admits the same, the Constitution provides for a leeway for him to correct the entries in his SALN. 30
