LACIERDA THINKS HE'S SMARTER THAN SENATORS!

The Senate Impeachment Court has not yet thoroughly investigated claims by PSBank Katipunan branch manager Annabelle Tiongson that the prosecution’s supposed copies of Chief Justice Renato Corona’s bank records are fake.

But Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda is already CATEGORICALLY declaring that the prosecution’s copies were indeed GENUINE!

What’s DISGUSTING is he issued his judgment in media, a DESPERATE, PATHETIC and AMATEURISH move to counter public perception that te prosecution lied on Corona’s supposed bank records.

Proof of the DESPERATION is Lacierda also stood by the story of congressman-prosecutor Rey Umali that a “little girl” had given the copies of Corona’s bank records him.

Despite the absence of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to prove it. But, take note people, Lacierda did not show or cite any convincing proof to support Umali’s story. 

Lacierda didn’t say if he was there, or if he has his own footage, when the ‘little girl’ approached Umali.    

REMEMBER, guys, Lacierda IS NOT from PSBank.

He is a lawyer, NOT A BANKER. He DOES NOT HAVE THE ORIGINALS of Corona’s bank records. He is NOT A KNOWN EXPERT in banking rules and procedures. 

Most of all, HE IS NOT A JUDGE of the Semate Impeachment Court.

So he has NO PROFESSIONAL OR LEGAL PERSONALITY, or right, to prejudge the issue publicly and PREEMPT the senator- judges.

None whatsoever, except a MALA-ADOBE SA KAPAL NA MUKHA!

As all of us know by now, the Constitution clearly provides that ONLY THE SENATE can decide on the Corona impeachment case, and everything related to it.

NOT LACIERDA, or for that matter Pnoy and anyone else in Malacanang.

What’s TRAGIC, ladies and gentlemen, is Lacierda or Pnoy  HAS NOT DISCUSSED ANYTHING on what the government is doing to solve the problems CRIPPLING us ordinary mortals, like sky-high oil prices and POWER RATES.

They NEVER RUN OUT of things to say when it comes to perceived enemies of Pnoy. But if it’s for the people’s welfare, their brains are empty and they suddenly become deaf and dumb!

CHIZ'S STATEMENT BELIES OCHOA'S DENIAL!

Sen. Francis Escudero’s clarification belies Executive Sec. Paquito Ochoa. 

Escudero has admitted that he had met with Ochoa twice, a day after Ochoa denied reports that he had been offering P100 million each to senators in exchange for ignoring the temporary restraining order (TRO) on the opening of the dollar accounts of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Escudero stressed that Ochoa did not offer him any bribe in exchange for anything. But following his statement, the fact remains that Ochoa CONTACTED HIM.

In effect, Escudero said Ochoa still lied when the Executive Secretary claimed he did not contact any senator.

So who do we believe now?

In the first place, Ochoa should NOT BE GETTING IN TOUCH with Escudero or any other senator, for whatever reason, for as long as the Corona impeachment trial is in progress.

Escudero is a senator-judge.

Ochoa is the right-hand man of Pnoy, who has been very vocal about his desire to oust Corona. Whether Ochoa likes it or not, the purpose of his presence will; always be in doubt, if not construed outright as an INTERVENTION move by Malacanang.

Assuming that Escudero’s claim of not being offered any bribe by Ochoa is true, the question is what is the EARTH-SHAKING purpose of their conversation that it can’t wait after the impeachment trial?

That Ochoa had to get in touch with Escudero not just once but twice?

Ochoa is also a lawyer. It is INCONCEIVABLE to think that he WASN’T SMART ENOUGH to realize the implications of visiting Escudero, and TRAGIC if he deliberately ignored these.

Truth and transparency are two of the favorite words of the Pnoy Administration. Yet, Ochoa did not acknowledge having met with Escudero when he denied contacting senators and offering them bribes.

And all that we, the people, have as proof are the words of Ochoa,

I’m not saying that Ochoa is lying, but neither do I see any evidence or convincing reason to swallow his denial hook, line and sinker.

Unless INDISPUITABLE PROOF that Ochoa did not try to bribe senators is presented, don’t be swayed outright by his sheer denial. Neither believe the allegations of the defense in its totality.

Judge based on EVIDENCE and evidence alone, not on self-serving pronouncements or who has more press releases.

HOW TO TREAT ALLEGED OCHOA BRIBERY!

Here are two tests for the truth of revelations that Executive Sec. Paquito Ochoa has been allegedly offering P100 million each to senators in exchange for disregarding the Supreme Court’s temporary restraining order (TRO) on the subpoena for Chief Justice Renato Corona’s  dollar accounts at PS Bank.

First, watch out for whoever is the senator who will be BURNING WITH ZEAL in asking his or her colleagues to IGNORE THE TRO OUTRIGHT.

Any senator who will REJECT ANY AND ALL legal processes or possible compromise, like a motion for reconsideration, and instead insist on enforcing the subpoena at once.  

Especially if he or she had not been as vocal as before on how the TRO should be handled by the Senate.

Second, be on the lookout for whoever will call for the replacement of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile as presiding judge of the impeachment court.

Regardless of whatever ground will be cited for the move.

Enrile DID NOT immediately cater to the whims of Pnoy by disregarding the TRO outright. But Enrile has allowed the Senate to ask the Office of the Solicitor-General to defend the impeachment court in having the TRO lifted.

If you see one or both of these signs in any senator, 99 percent he or she had undergone an IRRESTIBLE PERSUASION.

Drastic changes in one’s attitude and conviction DON’T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT without a reason or anything in return. Neither will anyone call for an outright defiance of a Supreme Court order in exchange for nothing.

This is where we should all focus our time and energy, and concentrate on, as the impeachment trial continues.

Don’t waste your time arguing with others on whether or not the Ochoa bribe offer is true. Don’t expect Ochoa, Pnoy or any senator-judge to admit or confirm it.

Let’s all find out the truth ourselves. Let’s not take anybody’s word as it is. 30

MALACANANG PRESSURING CUEVAS TO QUIT!

Corona lead defense counsel and Iglesia ni Cristo lawyer Serafin Cuevas has revealed to the Philippine Daly Inquirer that Malacanang is trying to pressure him to quit the trial.

Cuevas says a Malacanang lawyer has visited him several times and relayed that charges against ousted NBI Director and fellow INC member Magtanggoll Gatdula will be dropped if he leaves the Corona defense team.

Reading the story on the Inquirer website, I found at least two  reasons to take Cuevas’ claims as true.

First, Cuevas identified the Malacanang lawyer, a guy, but asked the Inquirer to withhold his name. But to give credence to his claim, Cuevas gave hints on the identity of the guy.

He said the guy is a former student of his at the University of the Philippines College of Law and a member of Malacanang’s ‘rah rah boys.’

If he’s lying, Cuevas will not give any clue to the Malacanang lawyer’s identity. As in nothing.

Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda tried to belittle Cuevas’ claim by asking the defense counsel to name the emissary. But the Inquirer said Cuevas NAMED the emissary but asked that it not be made public.

So all that Lacierda has to do is ask the Inquirer.

Second, the Malacanang guy will not approach Cuevas for a matter as sensitive as his resignation from the Corona defense team WITHOUT AUTHORITY from the bosses at Malacanang.

For the simple reason that an ordinary lawyer WILL NOT GAIN ANYTHING PERSONAL if Chief Justice Renato Corona is ousted.

And remember, Pnoy himself has been very vocal right from the start of his term a year and a half ago about his desire to replace Corona as soon as he can.

First, it’s the 100 witnesses the prosecution plans to summon.

Next, the SUPPOSED ‘people power’ rally organized by Social Welfare Sec. Dinky Soliman and the Black and White Movement today to pressure Corona into resigning.

Now, it’s Cuevas who’s being pressured to abandon the Chief Justice.

All these can only mean one thing – Malacanang and the prosecutors know they have VERY POOR CHANCES OF WINNING in the impeachment trial.

That’s why they’re now resorting to HUGE WASTES of taxpayers’ money through the 100 witnesses and Soliman’s rally, and to dirty tricks like pressuring Cuevas to quit, just to win and SAVE FACE!

This is the real score, the real situation we’re in, people. This is the kind of leaders we have.

It’s up to us how long can they still get away with these bullshits.
