START PRAYING, LUZON RESIDENTS!

Luzon residents, let’s all start praying that our island won’t be the next spot for a major natural tragedy.

For  those who don’t know, there is an old saying that everything comes in threes.

First was the December killer floods in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City, both in Mindanao. Second was this morning’s 6.9 earthquake that shook Negros Oriental, Cebu and other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao.

Luzon is the next one in line. GOD FORBID!

So guys, better start asking your congressmen, mayors and other local officials HOW SAFE are your villages and towns or cities from earthquakes. How safe and how prepared!

As I was writing this, seven people have been confirmed killed, 29 missing and one building has collapsed. Don’t wait for a bigger killer to happen first before you start asking questions.

Start asking local authorities what is the MOST DANGEROUS, and SAFEST, spot in your locality in the event of a major quake.

Find out if evacuation plans are in place, and how comprehensive are these, should these be necessary in the event of a major tremor. Don’t forget to ask how fast can these be implemented.

Get the names of EVERYONE who’s involved in disaster response operations, especially the bosses, and not just area coordinators.

Ask for the designated evacuation centers, how much funds and provisions or logistics are on standby and how long will these last. You have the right to do so. You’re taxpayers.

Ask for primers or other reference materials on disaster preparedness and prevention. Seminars would also a big help.

Better be READY than SORRY, ladies and gentlemen!

And most of all, PRAY. PRAY HARD and round-the-clock. If God will hear a lot of us calling, He won’t let us down.

Nothing will please Him, and Mama Mary, more! 30
