OIL PRICES CAN BE REDUCED...

There is a way to considerably reduce oil prices, even temporarily.

But surprisingly, and alarmingly, Pnoy wouldn’t even consider it even if he has the power to do so. There is no sensible, detailed justification for it either.

Pnoy can order the suspension of the collection of taxes on oil products, which amount to several pesos per liter (I just don’t have the exact figure).

Of course, the government will say it will lose so many hundreds of millions, or even billions, of pesos in revenues. But that is where the scary part comes in, ladies and gentlemen.

We, the people, DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH taxes are being earned by the government from the oil companies. We never get to know WHERE these taxes are being spent.

We don’t even know if the oil companies are paying the CORRECT TAXES. The only thing we get is the constant excuse that the government needs money for various projects.

Now, you tell me, guys:

As I’ve often asked before, have you seen EVEN ONE PROJECT which has been completed by the Pnoy Administration in its 20 months in office?

If not completed, started like roads or bridges, airports or power generating facilities?

Anybody correct me if I’m wrong but the only project the Pnoy Administration has carried out so far is the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) conditional cash transfer program for the poor.

A project NOT ORIGINALLY CONCEIVED by the Pnoy government and with a MULTI-BILLION peso budget with no detailed, public breakdown up to now.

Otherwise, the only thing we get, guys, is ‘pa pogi’ (self-serving) statements that tens or hundreds of billions have been allocated for this and that project and biddings have been held or will be held for so many others.

Take note, people, JUST ALLOCATED OR BIDDINGS. NOTHING finished yet, after 20 LONG MONTHS in office and hundreds of billions of our taxes pouring non-stop into government coffers.

And besides, taxes from oil products are NOT THE ONLY SOURCE of revenues of Pnoy’s government.

A hundred and one other kinds of taxes are being collected by the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Customs and other government agencies.

Add to that the billions of earnings of Pagcor and the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

All these monies and still, Pnoy won’t even suspend taxes on oil products to ease our burden and stretch the purchasing power of our meager income.

The million-dollar question: WHY?

Your guess is as good as mine, guys!

From the readers:

SUMMON VALTE TO IMPEACHMENT COURT!

ROCKY GASKELL NUYDA
According to Teddy Boy Locsin, the records came from Malacanang. He said it not in jest.

MAYA ZUBIRI
It did come from Malacanang. Where else?

TITO QUIOGUE
Put her in front of the Senate committee hearing.

ALICE BENZ
Yes, yes. Masyado maraming nalalaman si Valte kaya dapat isummon siya para matanong ng impeachment court kung saan nanggagaling ang mga tsismis niyang pinagkakalat sa press.

LIBERATO TIMBOL
Good idea, kasi dakdak ng dakdak about the authenticity of the docs presented by prosecutors. Put her on the witness stand/

EDUARDO PENALOSA
My question now is this: Since those bank records are now either illegally obtained or fake as testified to by no less than the PSBank president, would it be appropriate for the judges to even consider it as evidence since it’s a fruit from the poison tree? If they allow it and CJ is convicted because of it, then what we’ll have is a situation wherein for the first time, an illegality prevailed in a legal proceeding. I submit.

BHAXZ RYDER
Let the Senate and Cuevas grill her in the Witness Stand...

AL RONDINA
Para naman mapatunayan yang mga pinagsasabi nya!

FRED PARCS
‘Lady Gaga’ Valte in front of the impeach court? Well, she'll just sing "I Was Born This Way."

BIEN BALAJADIA of Marikina City
Korek!

CRISTY MARIE REYES of Iloilo City
It can be presumed that she knows something about the leaked document or else, how can she defend someone's innocence when she is ignorant about the truth?

PRIMO CRISOSTOMO of Farmville, Virginia, USA
This Valte is ALL-KNOWING... what an ARROGANT and BOASTFUL creature.

LETTY ARCILLA

BOYACKZSKI ROMAGOS of Bacoor, Cavite
Let the small fry be served as the fall guy.

MORE THAN WORDS
I wonder if she is going to invoke executive privilege.

LARD SOLOSA
That's true. From the President himself to his mouthpieces. These people are two-tongued. Their statements are always very far, far form the truth.

THALEIAH LIU
Go, go, go. Summon her. She has been acting so arrogantly.

PNOY IS PRO-RICH, NOT PRO-POOR!

RAIZZA WYNNE
Kasi hindi nila naranasan maging mhirap. Thanks for posting, sir.

TORO HYDEN
Noynoy Aquino is an oligarch. 30
