LACIERDA PROVES MALACANANG'S HYPOCRISY ON IMPEACHMENT!

Malacanang doesn’t seem to know the meaning of ‘word of honor’ wheni it comes to the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

From publicly pledging that it won’t interfere in the trial long before it started, Malacanang is now DIRECTLY aiding the prosecution outside the impeachment court, through media.

In an interview with mediamen, Presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said the prosecution’s plan to present Corona’s income tax returns (ITRs) as evidence was needed considering the discrepancies between the Chief Justice’s statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) and his actual list of registered properties.

Lacierda went as far as preempting the prosecution by saying Corona’s properties and the SALNs during Corona’s time in the judiciary would be analyzed vis-a-vis the ITRs.

And as acting as a senator-judge by categorically saying that “what we have seen uncovered so far, clearly would suggest that there has been a misrepresentation on the part of the Chief Justice.”

Some may say that this is not intervention since it’s outside the impeachment court and Lacierda isn’t a senator judge.

But when you aid the prosecution in explaining their case to the public through media, and in the process make categorical conclusions on trial issues even if you’re not a judge or a prosecutor, then that’s not just intervention.

That’s BRAINWASHING, and HYPOCRISY, to the hilt!  It’s simply amazing how Malacanang can stomach this! I

For the record, I’m not saying that Corona’s ITRs should not be presented.

What I’m saying is since the trial is already ongoing, Malacanang should SHUT UP and focus on the people’s urgent needs like sky-high prices of electricity, oil, basic commodities and education.

As I’ve said before, I haven’t heard or read of EVEN ONE infrastructure or pro-poor project of Pnoy’s administration since he became president a year and a half ago.

Anybody can correct me if I’m wrong.

And before anybody points it out, the conditional cash transfer program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development was started by former President Gloria Arroyo, not by Pnoy’s government.

If it’s against their political enemies, Malacanang is FASTER THAN LIGHTNING in coming out with something to say.

But If you ask for SPECIFIC ACHIEVEMENTS, all they have are GENERIC promises of hundreds of billions of pesos allocated for the poor!

This is the situation, the real situation we’re in, people!

From the readers:

DRILON SHOULD PROVE HE’S NOT BIASED!

TABOT VALLE
Let all questions be answered...everyone has biases. At the end of the day, truth shall prevail.

SYLVIA CENON
No proof needed, as it is clear as the sky that he is biased. Sometimes i think this impeachment proceeding ay nilalaro lang at parang wala talagang batas.

PEACH ZARI of Caloocan City
Huwag na nyang i-prove dahil useless lang. Wala nang maniniwala sa kaniya!

CHOURS GAB
How he acted at the impeachment court on days 2, 3 and 4 was enough proof that he should be disqualified to sit as a senator-judge! Masyado pong OBVIOUS yun!

ELISABETH CARILLO of Cologne, Germany
He must not. In my personal opinion, Enrile answered that topic already. The judges are allowed to ask questions. As simple as that.

RENE CASIBANG of Caloocan City
How and when do we really know that a senator-judge is biased?

LERMA MIJARES of Quezon City
Too late for that! Drilon has shown partiality already! Huwag niya babuyin ang proseso! Pun intended.

LIAN NG
Franky, Drilon is very loyal to the yellow cause at the expense of the country.

PEDRO LADINES of Toronto, Ontario, Canada
What if you take other considerations and not just attacki one? It's so obvious!! i believe a good blogger or journalist should stay neutral!

ISABEL JUICO
He cannot because he is prejudiced. Inhibit kaagad. No questions to ask, very obvious acting as prosecutor and judge.

EDWARD LEE
It's just a diversion by the defense. That's their job and they are doing it well, unless Sen. Enrile and the other Sen/Judges put a stop on their ridiculous over-the-bakod, pain-in-the-neck objection on everything.

BOYAKZKI ROMAGOS
No need for him to do that. It is tacitly expressed, Boyet Antonio, in all the proceedings.

NOEL MORADO
Sobrang balimbing ni Drilon.

FELIX VARGAS
Is he Noyp’s mole? What do you think?

ROLANDO LEJARDE of Cebu City
As long as the truth shows its face, there is no such thing as bias.

BETH FERNANDEZ
What is wrong sa tanong ni Drilon?

FUNDADOR BINAHON of Malaybalay, Bukidnon
All senators have their biases. Others are silent as the lamb, others are vulgar!

ALLAN ANG
He said he is not biased but he asked CJ to resign? Which is which ba talaga?
