Before anyone prejudges the amounts of properties supposedly under the name of Chief Justice Renato Corona as against his registered income, let’s not forget one thing:
Corona has NOT BEEN HEARD! And the revelations have NOT PROVEN ANYTHING ILLEGAL yet!
He is yet to give his defense on ongoing revelations by the prosecution. Fairness dictates that both sides MUST BE HEARD FIRST before judgment is rendered by anyone.
Not simply because one side is getting more and longer media exposure, it’s the truth.
Especially if attempts at brainwashing through media is very obvious, like discussing each and every evidence in public through press conferences despite a caution t th contrary by the impeachment court.
Or releasing Corona’s statement of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) in the Internet without the side of the defense.
As presiding Senator-Judge Juan Ponce Enrile pointed out when he was questioning BIR Commissioner Kim Henares, nobody knows if the money of the Coronas had come from, for example, an inheritance, gift or lottery winnings.
And I repeat, THERE ARE RULES which govern the conduct of the trial. Rules which both the PROSECUTION and the DEFENSE must follow.
Whether the prosecution likes it or not, the trial will be conducted according to the rules, and not how they want it even if it’s IMPROPER.
If the prosecution can’t present their case competently enough to minimize objections, it’s their fault and not of the defense.

Sana, the prosecutors did their research well. Mrs. Corona comes from the landed and wealthy Roco-Basa-Guidote-de Leon families. The CJ is a Coronado from Tanauan, Batangas and they own properties here. Their children are professionals, two of whom are working abroad. Another is working here and has a doctor at the Medical City for a husband. So it's not surprising that on their own as working professionals and on their inheritances alone, they can surely buy properties they want.

There is no hypocrisy here, except the double talk Malacanang is making. From the onset of his term, Pnoy made no bones of his intense dislike for Corona and his wish to kick him out of his post, followed by his admission that he initiated the impeachment with the aid of his 188 congressmen. The fortune of his family is at stake here and he will stop at nothing to ultimately oust Corona at all costs. But I am sure, this will be his Waterloo.
